Enterprise Vertical Market Solutions
The Enterprise market represents high value business for the carrier as many of these types of customers will pay a premium for availability, reliability and quality of service. Both the Large Enterprise and SMB (Small and Medium Businesses) segments currently provide the Telcos with sustainable revenues in an otherwise turbulent market-place. However, in the same way that the Telcos have began to recognise that there is a need to innovate and re-package services to off-set price erosion in the residential market, there is a real possibility that the same will apply to more sustainable markets.
With the emergence of the New Webcos (e.g. Google, Yahoo, etc.) rapidly developing new strategies and business models in partnership with highly focused social networking providers (e.g. Facebook, MySpace) in order to acquire consumer market-share, Telcos need to ask themselves how long will it be before they begin to face serious competition from the Webcos in both the Enterprise and SMB sectors.
The challenge for the Telcos (and particularly the mobile operators) is how to create and offer services that can deepen the relationship with their Enterprise & SMB customers through increasing the scope of their service offering. Failure to address this issue could result in the loss of many high value customers that provide the Telco with sustainable sources of revenue derived through (e.g.) ongoing support agreements.
Existing Telco service offerings to the Enterprise market are largely based around capacity, network connectivity and hosted services, sometimes complemented by IT outsourcing projects. The SMB market has been served by a different service mix, consisting of Telco hosted services (e.g. Centrex), supply of packaged off-the shelf systems (e.g. small PBX's, IT systems) and network connectivity.
Aepona now sees these markets developing as two distinct entities, presenting different requirements, opportunities and challenges for the Telco. For Large Enterprise customers, the emergence of Telecom Web Services as a universal standard for enabling simple integration between the telecom network and customer IT systems creates gains in productivity and efficiency through providing real-time user and network intelligence towards Enterprise applications. Typical examples of these being, Retail & Logistics and Fleet Management operations where combining user location with workforce scheduling results in less down time and greater optimisation of Enterprise resources.
Some of the above service propositions will also apply equally to the SMB market, however not only is there the prospect of offering a new service mix through the adoption of Telecom Web Services to these customers, but the potential to open up many new routes to market through on-boarding of new Service Providers as part of as new service delivery chain.
Whilst Telecom Web Services will revolutionise Telco service offerings to both the Large Enterprise and the SMB market, it’s important not to overlook the benefits of being able to offer fully hosted services such as "Virtual PBXs" and "Virtual Contact Centres", plus a suite of complementary services to customer's own installed platforms such as "Mobile PBX Extensions", "Multi-line" services for handsets and of course "Voice Call Continuity" to provide Enterprise roaming in WiFi hotspots.
Aepona offers a complete portfolio of platforms and applications to address each of these opportunities. They come pre-integrated and offered with a simple bundled pricing model making it easy to determine return on investment. All of Aepona's products offer a comprehensive range of network and application side interfaces simplifying network deployment whether deployed into traditional heritage networks or as part of an NGN investment.
