Aepona’s OPENIN products address one of the key challenges facing operators today: how to migrate their services away from the inflexible, expensive, vertically-integrated service “silos” of the past towards a more open, dynamic, flexible, future-proof and cost-effective service architecture that is ready for the inevitable evolution towards convergence and the “all-IP” vision.
Aepona’s OPENIN product suite comprises the following components:
- Telecom Application Gateway (TAG) – a real time application server providing the hosting environment and Network abstraction layer all in one product. Enabling Operators to define and build value added services whilst insulating them from the network complexities.
- Service Broker – a service interworking tool that enables the Operator to build new blended services by combining previously silo’d services that can be delivered to all their customers, irrespective of their billing plan.
- A portfolio of Value Added Service applications and Go-To-Market Solutions already pre-developed that allow the Operator to generate revenues from day one.
Aepona’s TAG platform also combines the best-of-breed third party applications which are tightly integrated to the OPENIN products to produce Go-To-Market solutions that meet the current market demands. These include:
Converged Charging
The OPENIN TAG platform supports and enables the convergence of application development into a single platform that can be delivered, rated and charged according to the transport method selected (fixed/mobile/broadband) by the Service Providers customers. In doing so, Service Providers can utilise one platform where several currently exist with their associated costs of ownership. This also allows real-time charging of services (voice, messaging, video etc.) for all subscribers whether they are prepaid or postpaid.
Social Networking
The OPENIN TAG enable Service Providers to harness the growth in Social Networking by offering a range of market-leading voice and data applications that provides true, real- time means of social connection (such as Twitter for voice) utilising all mobile devices, be they smartphones or simple handsets and both pre and post paid. Utilising best of breed applications together with Aepona’s trusted Network Integration allows Service Providers to move from decision to deployment in weeks, not months.
Roaming Solutions
The OPENIN product set includes a range of tools that enable the Service Provider to minimise cross-network charges, meet in-territory regulations and provide their users with a ‘home-network’ experience when travelling abroad. From such simple things as auto number correction to more sophisticated voicemail retrieval solutions, Aepona’s products are being used across Europe by a number of Operators to manage their roaming traffic.
